Artist Statement: I created this piece using matches arranged on a canvas to represent individuals within a community. Most of the matches share the same color and height, reflecting how people often move together within shared expectations or routines. One match rises above the others and differs in color, symbolizing the importance of stepping away from the crowd to think independently. At the same time, the piece suggests that individuality still exists within a community, showing how personal growth can strengthen the collective rather than separate from it.
